FIND: El Cortez $5 Las Vegas

There was a find of a box of El Cortez $5 small crown chips with the green insert.  I don't recall where this picture came from, but looks like there are many that have burn marks.

The first post I saw on this find was on the chipboard in 2013.

FIND: Harold's Club $500 Reno

Reported on TCB by Larry Hollibaugh reported a find of at least 18 Harold's Club $500 chips by someone who contacted him via email.  Another ebay seller also sold a few chips and claimed he bought them from the original seller.   Here is the link to the post.

The chip was listed as a R8 in C&W, which also noted a total of 8 exist.  TCR15 lists it as S- value code.  Here is a pic of the chip from the Chip Guide:

FIND: Sands $5 Las Vegas sm crown

There was an ebay sale that ended on 10-7-13 sold by Cocoabeanz01 for 6 drilled sands chip for $1914.  C&W had this chip listed as an R10 and TCR 15 has it at a Z4 chip.  See below for a pic from that auction.  The same seller has listed another drilled chip in an auction ending Feb 14, 2014.  By the pic on that auction, it doesn't seem like any of the chips below.  I don't recall seeing any posts on TCB on this chip.  Regardless, I would be worried about the how many chips the seller has/had in total.

In April 2010, Robert Purdue reported a finding of approx 30 x $5 and 30 x $25 Ray and Ruth's Stardust chips from Jackpot, NV.  C&W (4th) listed both denoms as Unique.  TCR #15 now lists both chips as a "R" value.  These are great looking hot stamps.

FIND: Black Orchid Chips

In June 2011, it was reported on the Chip Board by CT Rodgers of CT Coins that a "large group" of Black Orchid (Las Vegas) chips have been found.  He was offered at least a box (100) of each at the Long Beach coin show.  It wasn't specified what "each" of the denoms were.

Ratings per the C&W (4th) 50c R8, $1 R7, $5 R7, $25 R10.  I have seen a few  50c, $1 and $5 for sale on ebay, but not in huge quantity.  I have not seen the $25 for sale but I could have missed it.    TCR15 has the 50c as a W, $1 no market, $5 as  a Z1.  Not sure if they adjusted the price for these.  Proceed with caution.  Pics from the Chip Guide.

FIND: Riverside Hotel Small Crown $1 $5 $25 $100 Reno

Originally, there were multiple lots of these chips on ebay, but I beleive the original source came from an Estate sale in June 2013, then were flipped on ebay. In TCR#12, all 3 chips were marked down to a "N" value code.  They are beauty's!
